# Bleed Guides for Print Layouts

### Using Bleed Marks in Print Templates

When exporting print templates, you may need to include **bleed marks** to ensure designs are cut correctly during printing. The Rechat Plugin makes this easy by adding visual guides directly inside Figma.

1. **Select Medium as Print**
   * In the Rechat Plugin, choose **Print** as your medium.
   * Then, select the appropriate **layout** (e.g., Letter, Tabloid, Postcard).
2. **Assign Bleed Marks**
   * Enable bleed marks for your frame.
   * The plugin will add a **red layout guide** with **slice marks** on top of your frame.
3. **Preview the Cut Area**
   * The red guide shows exactly where your design will be trimmed after printing.
   * Extend **backgrounds and images** into the bleed area.
   * Keep **text and logos** inside the safe zone to avoid cutting issues.
4. **Accurate Sizes**
   * The plugin uses **standard U.S. paper sizes** with the correct bleed margins applied.
   * The cut marks are automatically placed so you know precisely where trimming will happen.
