# Enroll Contacts in a Flow

Enroll contacts individually, in bulk, on a future date, or through Lead Routing, then review or stop their enrollment.

Enroll contacts individually, in bulk, or automatically through Lead Routing. You can begin a Flow immediately, schedule a future start, review active enrollments, and stop remaining steps.

{% hint style="info" %}
Review the Flow before enrolling contacts. Confirm that its steps, timing, email content, tasks, and reminders are ready to use.
{% endhint %}

### Enroll one contact

1. Select **People** from the main navigation.
2. Open the contact’s profile.
3. Remain on the **Details** tab.
4. Scroll to the **Flows** section.
5. Select **More** or the **+** icon.
6. Select a Flow from the list.
7. Review its description and steps.
8. Choose when the Flow should begin.
9. Select **Add**.

After selecting a Flow, Rechat displays information such as:

* Flow name and description
* Number of steps
* Percentage of automated steps
* Planned email subjects
* Starting date

### Begin immediately or schedule a future start

Use the **Starting on** field to choose when the Flow should begin.

* Retain the current date to begin immediately.
* Select a future date to schedule the Flow for later.

The timing of the Flow’s steps is calculated using that starting date and the triggers configured in the Flow.

### Enroll multiple contacts

Use the bulk actions toolbar when several contacts should enter the same Flow.

1. Open **People**.
2. Select the contacts you want to enroll.
3. Select **Automate** from the bulk actions toolbar.
4. Select **Flow**.
5. Choose a Flow from the list.
6. Review its description and steps.
7. Choose the starting date.
8. Confirm the enrollment.

Before confirming, verify that every selected contact belongs in the intended audience and has the information required by the Flow.

### Enroll leads through Lead Routing

Authorized users can include a Flow in a Lead Routing rule. Qualifying leads are then enrolled when the rule assigns them.

Lead Routing is configured under **People > Lead Routing > Rules**.

A rule can contain:

* Conditions that determine which leads qualify
* The person to whom the lead is assigned
* The Flow in which the lead should be enrolled

<figure><img src="https://1031368632-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MJZySovZjoLVT1XAonI%2Fuploads%2FaLZHapsfr8GNrqazUmPG%2F2026-08-25_11-09-52.png?alt=media&amp;token=be6f1ce9-f12a-4ab7-a944-46cb0d2aaf65" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Flow selector is similar to the one used for individual enrollment from a contact profile.

For complete configuration instructions, see [**Lead Routing Rules**](/guides/crm/contacts/adding-contacts/lead-routing.md).

### See a contact’s Flow enrollment

Open the contact’s profile and locate the **Flows** section to see the Flow or Flows associated with that contact.

Select a Flow to review its description and planned steps.

<figure><img src="https://1031368632-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MJZySovZjoLVT1XAonI%2Fuploads%2Fo9nWjWczp0QRRkKZDN6W%2F2026-08-25_11-09-04.png?alt=media&amp;token=177d7053-1975-4c47-ba5f-294cfc8e5c3f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Review everyone enrolled in a Flow

1. Open **Marketing > Flows**.
2. Select the Flow.
3. Open the **Contacts** tab.

The number beside **Contacts** represents the enrolled-contact count. The tab displays each enrolled contact’s name and contact information.

<figure><img src="https://1031368632-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MJZySovZjoLVT1XAonI%2Fuploads%2F34UjMYA1LilpvP6aJ4ko%2F2026-08-25_11-09-52.png?alt=media&amp;token=92bb5f3e-1bae-488e-9799-a4d707497ef8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Stop a Flow for one contact

1. Open the Flow.
2. Select the **Contacts** tab.
3. Find the contact.
4. Select **Stop**.
5. Confirm the action when prompted.

Stopping the contact prevents Flow steps that have not yet been generated.

It does not remove:

* Tasks already created in the Task list
* Reminders already created on the Calendar
* Emails or other steps that have already occurred

### Stop all active enrollments

Select **Stop All** from the Flow’s **Contacts** tab when the Flow should be stopped for every currently enrolled contact.

**Stop All** prevents ungenerated future steps for all currently enrolled contacts. It does not remove Tasks or Reminders already generated in People Center.

### Monitor Flow activity in Insight

1. Open **Marketing > Insight**.
2. Select the **Activities** tab.
3. Open the enrollment filter.
4. Select a Flow.
5. Apply a date range when needed.

The activity feed is filtered to activity associated with the selected Flow.

<figure><img src="https://1031368632-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MJZySovZjoLVT1XAonI%2Fuploads%2FCdAe7qEuP23JIR7I1hQc%2F2026-08-25_11-13-43.png?alt=media&amp;token=cfb71352-f3a8-4351-afbd-5c49166ab20f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Use this view to review recorded activity such as email sends, opens, and other engagement associated with the Flow.

### What happens after the final step?

The Flow ends for the contact after its final step.

Rechat does not automatically:

* Restart the Flow
* Repeat its steps
* Enroll the contact in another Flow
* Continue with another unspecified sequence

Enroll the contact separately if another Flow should follow, or configure an applicable Lead Routing rule for future qualifying leads.

### Enrollment best practices

* Confirm that the contact belongs in the Flow’s intended audience.
* Verify email addresses and any dates used as triggers.
* Avoid placing contacts in overlapping Flows that may send repetitive messages.
* Use a future start date when content or approval is not yet ready.
* Test new Flows with an internal contact before mass enrollment.
* Review activity in Insight after enrolling a larger audience.
* Remember that stopping a Flow does not remove already-generated Tasks or Reminders.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.rechat.com/guides/marketing/flows/enroll-contacts-in-a-flow.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
