# Create and Use an Open House Registration Page

Rechat can automatically create an Open House Sign-In Page for your MLS listing, or you can create one manually when needed.

Guests can enter their information on a shared phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. They can also scan the event’s QR code and register using their own internet-connected phones.

### When Rechat creates the page automatically

Rechat automatically creates an Open House Sign-In Page when:

* The property is your listing.
* You schedule the open house in the MLS.

On the day of the open house, Rechat places a link to the Sign-In Page on your **Today Page**.

To access it:

1. Go to your **Today Page** on the day of the event.
2. Find the open house associated with your listing.
3. Open the provided Sign-In Page link.
4. Review the page before allowing guests to register.
5. Keep the page open on the device guests will use.

Confirm that the correct property, event time, image, and host information appear before the open house begins.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** MLS changes may require time to sync with Rechat. Schedule the event in advance and confirm that the page appears before the open house begins.
{% endhint %}

### When to create a page manually

Create an Open House Registration Page manually when:

* You are hosting an open house for another agent.
* The property is off-market.
* The event was not scheduled through the MLS.
* The listing is not associated with your Rechat account.
* Rechat did not automatically create the page.

### Create a page manually

1. From the main navigation, hover over **Transactions**.
2. Select **Open House**.
3. Click **New Open House**.\
   *Rechat automatically creates pages for your scheduled MLS open houses. Use New Open House when you need to create one manually.*
4. Select the property for the open house. \
   You can choose an MLS listing or use an off-market property when the home is not available through your connected MLS.
5. Review the selected host and click **Change Host** if needed.
6. Select the open house start date and time.
7. Click **Add End Date** if you want to include an ending date and time.
8. Click **Edit Guest Registration Page** to review or customize the guest-facing page.
9. Click **Save**.

### Review the Guest Registration Page

The Guest Registration Page displays:

* The property address
* The event’s start date and time
* A property image
* The host’s name, photo, title, and phone number
* The open house QR code
* The guest registration form

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="https://1031368632-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-MJZySovZjoLVT1XAonI%2Fuploads%2F22Hd6n3FMFSTNUvhKRPY%2F2026-08-20_16-47-40.png?alt=media&amp;token=fbdda3ae-c053-47b0-9a5f-f83d87d26830" alt=""><figcaption><p>Review the property, event, host, QR code, and registration form before using the page at your open house.</p></figcaption></figure></div>

The form requires each guest to provide:

* First name
* Last name
* Email address

Guests may optionally provide:

* Phone number
* Realtor, agent, or broker name

The Realtor field also helps you understand whether an attendee is already working with another real estate professional.

### Test the page before your event

Always complete a test registration before the open house.

1. Open the completed Registration Page.
2. Confirm that the property and event information are correct.
3. Complete the form using test contact information.
4. Click **Submit**.
5. Return to the Open House Registrations area.
6. Confirm that the registrant count has updated.
7. Verify that the contact appears in your People Center.

Testing the page ahead of time gives you an opportunity to correct the host, date, property, or page information before guests arrive.

### Open an existing Registration Page

To open a page you previously created:

1. Go to **Transactions > Open Houses**.
2. Select **Upcoming** or **Past**.
3. Locate the appropriate event.
4. Click **Registration Link**.

You can open this link on the device guests will use or share it with someone else.

The dashboard also displays:

* Event title
* Start date
* Creation date
* Number of registrants
* Registration link

### Set up a shared sign-in device

The Registration Page can be opened through a web browser on a:

* Phone
* Tablet
* Laptop
* Desktop computer

Before guests arrive:

1. Fully charge the device.
2. Connect the device to a reliable internet connection.
3. Open the Registration Page.
4. Complete a test registration.
5. Keep the page open and visible.
6. Place the device near the entrance.
7. Keep a charger available.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Adjust the device’s settings so the screen does not lock after a short period of inactivity.
{% endhint %}

After a guest submits the form, the Registration Page is ready for the next attendee.

### Let guests register with the QR code

Each Open House Registration Page includes a QR code that leads to the same guest registration form.

Guests can:

1. Open the camera on their phone.
2. Point the camera at the QR code.
3. Tap the link detected by the camera.
4. Complete the registration form.
5. Tap **Submit**.

This allows several guests to register at the same time instead of waiting to use one shared device.

You can display the QR code directly on the shared Sign-In Page or access it from the Rechat mobile app.

Depending on the sharing options available on your phone, you may be able to:

* Send the QR code through AirDrop.
* Send it by text message.
* Send it by email.
* Share it with another app.
* Save it as an image.
* Display the saved image on printed or digital materials.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** The guest’s phone must have an internet connection to open and submit the form through the QR code.
{% endhint %}

### Understand which QR code to use

The Open House Registration Page includes a QR code specifically connected to that event’s registration form.

Rechat’s Marketing Center can also create QR codes that perform other actions, such as:

* Opening a property website
* Starting a text message
* Starting an email
* Opening another webpage
* Displaying plain text
* Starting a phone call

Those QR codes do not automatically register someone for an open house.

To capture the guest as an open house attendee, use the QR code connected to the specific **Open House Registration Page**.

### Collect registrations while offline

If the shared device loses its internet connection after the Sign-In Page has been opened, guests can continue entering their information on that device.

Rechat temporarily stores the registrations and uploads them once the device reconnects.

While registrations are waiting to upload:

* Keep the Sign-In Page open.
* Do not close the browser or browser tab.
* Do not refresh the page.
* Do not navigate to another webpage.
* Do not power off or restart the device.
* Reconnect the device as soon as possible.

After reconnecting, confirm that the registrations appear in Rechat before closing the page.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Warning:** Closing the page, closing the browser, or powering off the device before the registrations upload may cause the unsynced information to be lost.
{% endhint %}

Offline registration applies only to information entered directly on the shared device. A guest cannot open the Registration Page by scanning its QR code unless their phone has an internet connection.

### Open house preparation checklist

Before the event begins, confirm that:

* If it is your listing, schedule the open house correctly in the MLS.
* On the day of the event, confirm that the Sign-In Page link appears on your Today Page.
* If no automatic page is available, create one manually from **Transactions > Open Houses**.
* The correct host is selected.
* The event date and time are accurate.
* The property and image are correct.
* The Registration Page has been tested.
* The shared device is fully charged.
* A charger is available.
* The page is already open.
* The QR code is ready to display.
* The device will remain powered on if its connection is interrupted.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.rechat.com/guides/open-house-registrations/create-and-use-an-open-house-registration-page.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
