# Improved Placeholder Text Editing & Preview Experience

We’ve made significant improvements to how placeholder text works within the Rechat Marketing Center. Editing placeholders is now easier to understand, preview, and test, especially for admins creating custom email, print, or social templates.

These updates are designed to eliminate guesswork and help you confidently visualize your final marketing piece before sending or scheduling.

### What's New?

**Improved Placeholder Identification**

* Placeholder fields now display clearly and are easier to click and edit.
* Hovering over a placeholder shows a **tooltip** (with styling improvements) to help you understand the variable you're editing.

**New Preview Dropdown**

* A new **Preview** button has been added inside the template editor.
* You can now choose real data sources (like listings, recipients and senders) to preview how your template will render with real information.
* If you don’t select any, mock data is applied automatically so you can still visualize the layout.

**Send Me a Test Email**

* Test your content with mock or real data by clicking **Send me test email**.
* Mock data will be used unless a real listing, agent, or market report is selected from the Preview dropdown.

### Why This Matters?

Admins can now confidently edit and preview personalized content without second-guessing if placeholders were updated properly. This improvement reduces mistakes and gives you more control over your brand templates.
